Well fellow fashionistas, another year has come and gone. As I get older they seem to go by faster and I find myself trying to slow down the hands of time. 2017 was a big year for me, mostly because I made the transition from medical student to graduate student. Even if it’s a welcome change, change is hard and it took me a second to find my place in my new academic world. 2017 was also my biggest travel year! From the warm beaches of Aruba, to the rainy Scottish countryside, to the concrete jungle that is New York City, I am so thankful for the places I’ve been and the people I’ve been there with. I’m a also thankful for you! This blog is a fun way for me to express my non-science self and I love sharing new content with you. With that said, let’s move on to today’s post!

I’m not a big fan of Winter, but I am a big fan of big, fabulous coats. I picked up this coat at H&M recently and think it’s the perfect Winter remedy. Not only is my faux fur actually warm, it’s sure to make a fashion statement wherever I go. Where did I go though? My Mom and I took a day trip to Toronto to do some shopping so I had to check out the new Chanel flagship store. It was impeccable (as expected), and they were having a sale. If you’re looking to pick up a Chanel cuff, belt, or flats, this is the store for you. As for the rest of my look, you’ve seen these pieces many times before because they’re some of my favourites. The solid red colour of my coat allowed me to pair it with a wildly patterned maxi dress. What’s better than a patterned maxi dress? Pairing it with masculine combat boots. This look is pretty much everything I talked about in 2017. The year many have changed, but my eccentric grandma chic style has not. Welcome, 2018!
