It’s that time of year again. It’s no longer a thousand degrees, a cool breeze can be felt as the leaves start to change colour, and the fashion world comes alive. I love Fall. It’s the season of beautiful clothes, PSLs, and Halloween. I start thinking about my Fall wardrobe in March so let’s just say….I am so ready for this. My ultimate transition piece from Summer to Fall is the floral midi skirt. It’s perfect for a warm Summer day in SoHo or a brisk Fall night in Ottawa. Serendipity struck when I wore this Gucci-esque look in SoHo and discovered this real-life Gucci art! I love New York for all of it’s unique people, places, and street art so this was the icing on the cake at the end of our trip.
So what exactly makes this skirt a “great transition piece”? Well, for starts, it’s length. I’m not a fan of mini skirts in general but mini skirts in the Fall/ Winter make no sense. A below-the-knee cut is elegant, still cool enough in the Summer, and keeps your legs warm in the Fall. Second, it’s floral pattern. Florals are big in Spring and Summer, but choosing warm colours like gold and burgundy easily make this skirt wearable during the colder months. Also, the waistband on this skirt really caught my eye; it gives me major Gucci vibes without the price tag.
Do you have a favourite transition piece?
