I absolutely love pulling pieces from my closet and creating a new look on the spot. After all, isn’t this what #streetstyle is about? Actually, I beg to differ. Every fashion month there are swarms of fashionistas with their own take on their favourite runway pieces. Being able to re-create a runway look from your closet can be just as fun and even more challenging than making it up yourself. My challenge began with this look from Dior’s Spring/Summer 2017 collection. The black and white contrast, the frilly midi skirt, the powerful feminist tee; I was a girl in love.
Faux leather is my absolute favourite texture to add to any look. I bought this vest years ago and it’s been hanging around my closet ever since. Much like the combat boots and floral dress thing that I love so much, a tough leather jacket and a frilly skirt is the ultimate uniform for the feminist fashionista.
What’s more fun- creating or re-creating?
