Let’s talk about the it-trend right now: hair bows. No longer for young school-aged girls, hair bows are a haute couture hair necessity. My favourite collection to have conquered the adult hair bow is Tory Burch’s Fall 2017 RTW collection. Since velvet is more of a Fall texture and we’re still in the middle of summer I thought the best thing to do was to re-purpose another accessory: the twilly scarf. If you haven’t already guessed, I’m a big fan of silk scarves. Silk is so luxurious and a scarf makes me feel like I have a piece of my favourite designer’s collection without breaking the bank. Twillies can be worn as a belt, as a bag accessory, around your wrist, or…in your hair for a chic gown-up girl bow.
I put this look together around the colours of my Dior Spring/ Summer 2017 mitzah. I am again sporting my favourite feminist tee under a relaxed denim jacket from J. Crew. My boots were purchased during the Coach sale at the end of May and like one of my last posts, I specifically paired the masculine combat boot with a more feminine look.
From one shopaholic to another, there are two prime shopping times during the year. The first is obvious: post-Christmas/ boxing day. But the second best time to purchase from your favourite high-end designers is May/ June. Brands like Burberry, Chloé, Coach, and many others have killer deals on their previous Fall/ Winter pieces. I don’t know about you, but summer is pretty short here in Canada and I can’t start preparing my Fall wardrobe early enough, so this is the perfect time to stock up on essentials for my favourite season.
Will you give the hair bow a try?
