Comfort Is Key

“Comfort is key.” This is a quote from my mother. When I was young I wanted nothing to do with comfort. “Fashion!” I cried. “Glamour!” “Sophistication!” Turns out, she’s right. Comfort really is key. Does that mean abandoning the fashionable? Of course not. Here are some tips to help you achieve your own fashion-comfort balance.

Tip #1. Buy a jumpsuit. With an adjustable tie at the waist and wide-legged pants the jumpsuit is a staple piece in every fashionista’s wardrobe.

Tip #2. Layer. I’ve talked about this before. Layering can create a dynamic look as well as a comfortable one and this silk top (that I purchased during the Burberry sale) is a perfect layering piece. Expect to see it again and again.

Tip #3. Invest in some well-made shoes. I’ve ranted about this shoe epiphany before, so I’ll make this brief: it’s worth it. You’ll never regret buying well-made, stylish shoes. Why? Because they’re comfortable and you’ll wear them all the time.

Do you have any tips for dressing comfortably, yet fashionably?
