A couple of weeks ago I traveled to Toronto to reunite with my best friends from undergrad. We had a fabulous, jam-packed weekend of fun! Since Toronto is the fashion capital of Canada, I couldn’t resist a post opportunity.
The Gooderham building was the perfect location to shoot this black and white ensemble.
I wore a while off-the-shoulder crop top from Zara, a black midi skirt from H&M (circa two years ago), and red Steve Madden Proto pumps (the red version of the nude ones I wore in an earlier post). Of course I brought along my trusty Louis Speedy 30 too.
I am currently loving the bolo tie/ choker look, but couldn’t justify spending $100 for a little piece of suede rope (I’m looking at you Free People). So instead, I did what any fashionista on a budget would do and DIY’d one! I don’t consider myself a creative person, so crafts are not my forte. However, making this was ridiculously easy. I bought a huge roll of black suede cord from Walmart (like 15 bucks) and some silver beads (like 5 bucks). I cut the cord, threaded the beads, and tied a knot at each end. Ta-da! I actually made 10 different ties in different lengths and styles (take that Free People).
