I love bread. I eat it every day. I don’t consider my meal complete unless I’ve had some sort of bread. That’s why Kettleman’s and I are perfect together.
I decided to head into Kettleman’s after a long hot run around Dow’s Lake a couple of months ago. I ordered a Herb and Cheese bagel with butter. What I received, however, was absolutely delicious. I don’t know if they dipped the entire bagel in butter or what was going on but this was easily the best bagel I had ever eaten! (Note: I had never had a Montréal-style bagel. They are a thousand times better than any other bagel.)
Not only was the bagel delicious, but eating at Kettleman’s is a really cool experience! It’s open concept, so they make the bagels right in front of you. From rolling the dough to cooking the bagels in this giant open oven to packaging them up- you can see it all right there as you wait!
I got a Herb and Cheese bagel with their famous cream cheese and it was so good. I also decided I also needed to have a pretzel because, why not? This pretzel boasts the perfect amount of bread and salt. I was in heaven.
I wore matching Zara tweed top and shorts with my trusty nude Steve Madden Proto pumps. I also donned my favourite straw boat hat (are you guys getting tired of seeing me in it yet??) and my Coach Borough bag I bought about a year ago. To be totally honest, I was planning on wearing this outfit in Italy later this summer but I realized that it will be way too hot. So here it is!
To make a long story short: the bagels are delicious, the cream cheese is delicious, the sandwiches are delicious, and the pretzels are delicious. If you should ever come to Ottawa, you must stop in to enjoy one of my favourite things: bread.
Have you been to Kettleman’s? What’s your favourite item on the menu?
