I recently got the chance to visit Chicago again after quite a few years. Being only a short plane ride away, the Windy City is a wonderful weekend getaway. I’ve rounded up five of my favourite things to inspire your future travels!
I was told that the thing to eat in San Diego is Mexican food. Being only 20 minutes from the Mexican border, this Californian paradise boasts some of the best tacos, burritos, and churros around. With almost 2,000 Google reviews attesting to the deliciousness of their worth-the-wait food I knew I had to give it a try. We ended up waiting about an hour and a half outside of the aptly-named The Taco Stand in La Jolla for the best tacos I have ever had in my life. With unlimited sauce refills and giant portions (look at that guac!), this is a bucket list destination. Buen provecho, indeed.
Equal parts sophisticated and practical, the Mary Jane is the perfect shoe! When I saw Chanel’s latest interpretation during their Resort 2019 show I thought it was the ultimate Mary Jane. One of the big trends for Spring is white tights and white shoes, and this was executed perfectly by Chanel. As a dancer white tights are my go-to, so I was thrilled to get the chance to wear them in my every day life. I paired this white-on-white look with a gorgeous velvet Chloé dress I picked up at Nordstrom Rack and the Blair Waldorf-esque headband of my dreams.
I grew up in a house full of song. From singing in church choirs to “good morning” wake up songs to karaoke nights, someone was always singing something. A lot of the time that something was a Disney song. My favourite movies and characters were Disney. My toys and clothing was Disney. When I was 11 we went to Disney World for the first time and it was nothing short of magical. When my sister and brother-in-law invited me to tag along with family to Disney once again, almost 15 years later, I jumped at the chance. After all, I wanna be where the people are. This time I got to see the happiest place on Earth from my 5-year-old niece and nephew’s points of view.
It’s the time of the year that leaves us all longing for a break. A break from the cold, from work, from real life. It’s the time of year that leaves me wanderlusting for places I’ve been and places I’ve yet to discover. Inspired by that wanderlust, I bring you my Seattle travel diary. Details about all of the delicious food, breath-taking views, and general fun I had while in Seattle with my best friend.
